After several years in the real estate and telecommunications industries, Dave Helton began providing turnkey services in wireless site development for wireless telecommunication providers in 1998 under the company name, Land Acquisition Services (LAS). In April, 2004, the company became Dave Helton and Associates, Inc. (DHA).

Dave Helton, President

For more than 25 years, Dave Helton has continually built expertise in wireless site development as an independent service provider. He has a solid foundation in every aspect of site acquisition and development for wireless communication facilities, understanding the evolution of the wireless industry and the potential to come. He has worked with industry giants, including  Sprint, Nextel, AT&T, GTE, Verizon, Revol Wireless and Crown Castle to name a few, and on some of the highest profile events in the nation. His expertise and high standards set the tone for the teams of skilled professionals he assembles for his clients and their projects.

Dave Helton graduated from Indiana State University in 1984 and continued graduate work at DePauw University. In 1987 he became a licensed real estate broker in the state of Indiana. As an Indiana approved Right-of-Way Buyer, he has represented the state of Indiana, utility companies and other organizations in securing the necessary right of ways for roadways, bridges, water, sewer, redevelopment and utilities.

DeeAnn Helton, Vice President

Since 2004, DeeAnn Helton has managed the administrative needs of Dave Helton and Associates, Inc. In addition to handling the paperwork for the company, she acts as project coordinator in the office and helps to maintain communication and documentation for projects.

 

Timeline and Experience or Notable Achievements

1986 – 1991  State approved INDOT Right of Way Buyer. Project Manager for more than 100 projects and purchased the gamut of land rights for the State of Indiana and local public agencies.

1991  Initial build out for GTE Mobilnet/Verizon wireless network in Indiana and Ohio.

1995  Indiana Property Manager for Sprint PCS. Helton launched the Indianapolis market.

1997  Launch assistance for the second round build-out for Nextel in Indiana.

1998  Turnkey development of Verizon’s Cincinnati, Ohio second round build-out.

1999  Helton opened the Crown Castle office in Indianapolis and was Sales Manager & Site Acquisition Mgr.

2000   Turnkey development of more than 80 raw land sites for Crown Castle’s greenway project.

2001  Turnkey development of Sprint’s fill-in and capacity sites in Indiana and Ohio.

2002  Helton’s team co-launched AT&T Wireless  Upstate New York launch of more than 300 sites.

2003  Site development of more than 40 sites for AT&T southern Indiana build out.

2005 – 2006 Responsible for co-launching of the Revol Wireless Communication network in Indiana.

2007   Turnkey Cinergy sites for Sprint Indiana.

2009  Turnkey site development work for Qualcomm’s FloTV Indiana/Ohio network.

2010  Turnkey Sprint fill in sites in Indiana.

2012  For the 2012 Super Bowl in Indianapolis, Helton and Associates, Inc. was responsible for the site development and build-out of AT&T’s first nationwide WIFI hot zone network in downtown Indianapolis.  They also provided turnkey site development of Sprint’s Super Bowl event build-out.

2013   EdgeConnex East Coast Real Estate Manager. (Contract Manager) Completed the site backhaul upgrade for more than 1,300 Sprint fiber upgrades in Ohio in nine months.

2014 – 2015  Turnkey site development services to Sprint’s Indiana and Ohio markets to complete the deployment to upgrade Sprint’s Non MLA sites.  All site development services provided by top-notch local professionals, on time and under budget.
